Centrally located at the interchange of the Inland Island Highway (19) and the Comox Valley Parkway (Exit 117), the Vancouver Island and Coast Discovery Centre will be the Islands only regional gateway visitor centre; over 7000 sq. ft. designed to drive sales of tourism-based activities and product for the entire north central Island and coastal regions.

Sponsorship and contribution recognition opportunities are available now for businesses and organizations to name or dedicate exhibits and rest area elements within oceans, forest, alpine and culinary themes. Companies can also donate exhibit and building materials to make this one of the most dynamic tourism portals in the country, while increasing awareness of their business.

Purpose

The overarching purpose of the new Vancouver Island and Coast Visitor Centre will be to create a strategic gateway and destination visitor centre, supported by a visitor experience exhibit gallery that will:

Generate tourism-based economic benefits for the North Central Vancouver Island and coastal region;
Promote and facilitate greater collaboration among tourism operators and attractions and improve their capacity to package and deliver recreational services;
Provide a venue to showcase regional industries; and
Support the awareness and promotion of the Island and Coastal First Nations with an emphasis on the K’omox First Nation
